About Art Brut
The Art Brut series is a collaboration project initiated by Musubi and three other organisations. The main purpose is to support people with disabilities to create art. They hope by using Furoshiki as a media, they can let more people know and enjoy these freely expressed artworks, designed by people with disabilities. All the income of this project will be used to support even more people with disabilities to create art.
What is Furoshiki?
Furoshiki is a piece of square towel that people from Japan have been using to wrap gifts and carry groceries for generations. Due to its unique pattern, size and weaving style, this 100% high quality cotton towel can be used in a variety of different ways.
How can I use Furoshiki?
The Furoshiki Art Brut Picot Lace White 50cm can be used as strong shopping bag using either a two or three knot method (see instructional video to learn how). The bag size and handles can instantly be adjusted to suit your needs. It can also be used as a thin blanket, or can be spread as a picnic or beach towel.
