About the Design
The design of the the Furoshiki Link Dots Black is based on the concept of folding. This design forms a three dimensional landscape of shape and line, creating an abstracted pattern of wandering valleys, mountains, ridges, peaks and troughs.
About the brand
LINK is a producer of contemporary Furoshiki textiles through a network of artists and designers from around the world. It is a unique and challenging project conducted long-distance, entirely via the internet, by busy women with a world-wide vision. Collaborating with a select global network of artists and designers, it aims to cross cultures and generations by creating beautiful and functional products, from Japan to the world and from the world to Japan.
About the Artist
Lucinda works in Printed Textiles and Graphic Design. Originally from the U.K. where she studied Graphic Design at the Royal College of Art in London, Lucinda moved to Tokyo for seven years, then Los Angeles for three and now lives and works in San Diego, California. Greatly inspired by her time in Japan, Lucinda began to focus her work on printed textiles. With a camera always at hand, the majority of Lucinda’s designs are derived from her countless photos and day-to-day observations. These are then transposed into graphic patterns and compositions.
How to use Furoshiki
Furoshiki (風呂敷, fu-rosh-ki) is a type of traditional Japanese wrapping cloth. It can be used in multiple ways, for bundling or gift-wrapping all sorts of things. We think this particular lighter-weight furoshiki works well for more delicate wrapping and perfectly as a scarf, and it softens up the more you wear and wash it. One simple and beautiful piece of cloth and the list is endless. Tie it and see!

About the Printing Process
Each of the Link Collective products has been hand printed in Japan, using traditional printing techniques. They have been working with a great printing company called Chiffonez in Tokyo, who specializes in the printing of Furoshiki. To make sure customers get the best results possible, they keep a close dialogue with the printers, retaining a good balance between the ideas and invaluable knowledge.
