LINK is a producer of contemporary Furoshiki textiles through a network of artists and designers from around the world. It is a unique and challenging project conducted long-distance, entirely via the internet, by busy women with a world-wide vision. Collaborating with a select global network of artists and designers, it aims to cross cultures and generations by creating beautiful and functional products, from Japan to the world and from the world to Japan.

    About the Artist

Leah lives in Austin, Texas. Her brand started with a dream and an Etsy shop in 2008 which quickly grew to include retailers internationally as well as collaborations with companies such as «Schoolhouse Electric», «Urban Outfitters», «O'Neill», «Galison», «Hallmark», «Target», und «The land of Nod». Her line consists of locally sourced textiles, stationery, and home goods with many items produced by hand in her studio. Each piece in leah's collection is hand drawn and reflects her unique sensibility and soft color palettes. Inspired by a love of nature and the southwestern landscape, she has established a recognizable voice that speaks simplicity and beauty with quirky and organic themes.

    How to use Furoshiki

Furoshiki (風呂敷, fu-rosh-ki) is a type of traditional Japanese wrapping cloth. It can be used in multiple ways, for bundling or gift-wrapping all sorts of things. We think this particular lighter-weight furoshiki works well for more delicate wrapping and perfectly as a scarf, and it softens up the more you wear and wash it. One simple and beautiful piece of cloth and the list is endless. Tie it and see!

    About the Printing Process

Each of the Link Collective products has been hand printed in Japan, using traditional printing techniques. They have been working with a great printing company called Chiffonez in Tokyo, who specializes in the printing of Furoshiki. To make sure customers get the best results possible, they keep a close dialogue with the printers, retaining a good balance between the ideas and invaluable knowledge.
