What is Furoshiki?
Crocodile Pink is a piece of square towel that people from Japan have been using to wrap gifts and protect small objects for generations. Due to its unique pattern, size and weaving style, this 100% high quality thin cotton towel can be used in a variety of different ways.
About the artist
Furoshiki Kata Kata Crocodile Pink was designed by Chie Takai, daughter of Nobuyuki Takai, a pupil of Japanese National Treasure Keisuke Serizawa. Chie Takai is a renowned Japanese stencil artist, known under her artist name Kata Kata. The name is derived from Kata-e-zome, which is Japanese method of dyeing fabrics using a resist paste applied through a stencil.
How can I use Furoshiki?
The Furoshiki can be used to wrap small gift, a book, or a bento box using either a two or three knot method (see instructional video to learn how). It can also be used as a fashion bandana, or can be spread as a napkin or handkerchief. With your imagination its uses are endless!
Maintaining your Furoshiki is easy, simply machine wash 30 degrees Celsius and iron as needed. Furoshiki is not only beautiful, useful and easy to handle, it also stimulates creativity and problem-solving skills. Using the multipurpose and multifunctional Furoshiki can reduce waste from both wrapping and shopping.
