The summer is ending, surely it is. The frozen grass and single digit temperature degrees is making us admit that the autumn is really here and the winter is not far. It is understandable to feel little bit sad because summer is never long enough for the people living in Switzerland. Who doesn’t love the golden sunshine and the clear blue sky? Accepting changes has never been easy, but it is just a part of life, a pattern of nature. As long as we want to, there will always be something beautiful.
When I walked home with my little family after having dinner at my parent in laws house, I saw the streets were covered with fog.
It is poetic
, my friend Mimmi would have said. Under the street lamps, the mist formed a dark tunnel. It was impossible to see beyond nor behind, all we knew was the path will lead us home, and the present moment of clarity is all we have. Tonight was surely beautiful.
If you ever find yourself surrounded by a depressive atmosphere, use the senses to discover and recognise what beautiful is.
Is the crispy sound that dried leaves make when you step on them not beautiful?
When I was little, I have always loved tracing the pile of crunching leaves that piled up by the wind on the sidewalks to stomp my feet on, until my grandmother told me off for walking zig zags. Even now, I can’t help to step on them on purpose!
Autumn has always been my favourite season
The full moon,
the mysterious fog,
the heavenly forest!
The early darkness and blurry dawn. Do you also like the misty morning, with a soft kiss from the gentle rain? Do you also feel the consciousness slowly awakens while passing through a foggy city and also the freedom of walking towards clarity and finding the meaning of this life?
Do you recognise the colour changing of the tree leaves? Do you hear the giggles and laughters from the children when they stomp their feet into muddy puddles? Do you see the three year-old ones (risking their lives) collecting conkers and pinecones? And the never ending fights with skinny twigs!
The watery mouth and juicy fruits! Who doesn’t love the sour and sweet Mandarins?! Who doesn’t love the fresh pressed apple juice? Or the smell from oven roasted chestnuts? and the fantastic pumpkin soups! And Finally, the Christmas, don’t let it come too fast!
We always have the choice to see the beauty of nature, and fun side of life. Surely the wind is getting colder, and the rain will make you wet, but when you fill your eyes with the beauty of Autumn, you will only feel the blessings of life!
