Description
Senacha No. 21 is an organic loose leaf green tea. It is the most popular green tea in Japan. Senacha has a grassy and slightly salty flavor, which is perfect for a gentle introduction to the joys of green tea. When infused, Sencha No. 21 gives a full-bodied flavor and a greenish golden color. Sencha makes a perfect morning tea, as it contains a high amount of theine (caffeine) to boost your focus.
Sencha comes from the same green tea bushes that matcha originates from, except that in the case of sencha they are not shaded during cultivation. The leaves are dried immediately after harvesting, thanks to which the oxidation process stops. After drying, the leaves curl to form their characteristic “coniferous” shape. Moya Sencha No. 21 is harvested from organic crops on the island of Kyushu in Japan, from the second tea collection with a very balanced taste.

- After the water has cooled to about 70-80 C°, pour 150ml of water over the leaves
- Cover the pot with the lid and let sit for 2-3 minutes
- Pour all of the liquid out of the pot, directly into the cups, or if it's too much into an intermediate larger container
- Enjoy the tea when it's still hot
- You can repeat this process at least times with the same leaves; the infusion time slightly increases with each cycle
Tea for your taste
If you feel like the flavour is too strong, reduce the amount of leaves or decrease the infusion time. If the taste is too bitter, lower the water temperature or use filtered/descaled water. You can also use a glass bottle with a filter, simply adjust the amount of leaves to fit your bottle size. The water temperature and infusion time remain unchanged, but be sure to remove the filter with the leaves from the water after 2-3 minutes.
